Half Nelson
Starring Ryan Gosling, this dramatic story is about a junior high teacher who inspires his students in ways no other teachers can but yet has a pretty bad drug problem. One of his students, Drey catches him getting high and afterwards the two begin to bond in a way to keep each other from straying too far from the right path.
I thought this film was alright. It was a little odd, but Ryan Gosling was really great in it. The struggles of his character really came through in such way that one could understand why such a bright guy could stray down the path of drugs and get caught up. The relationship between the Gosling’s character and Drey was a little weird becuse it seemed to come on a little strong at first. There really is not much point to the film but I’d reccommend watching it to see Gosling’s acting.

The Office - US VERSION
I know this has been out for a while but I have only gotten to watching it just now. This show is pretty frieking hilarious. I watched some of the British version but couldn’t get into it. After getting hooked on this I think I am going to give the British version a second try. I absolutely love the comedic triangle between Jim and Pam giving Dwight a hard time. Those three truely work amazingly well together. Rainn Wilson is definitely a shooting star. That guy came out of nowhere on House of 1000 Corpses and now he is just rockin’ it. A-
DIRT on Fx
This show is really great too. There is some excellent camera work and editing in this one. The quality is also excellent. Courtney Cox-Arquette seems to really have proven herself as an actress. I am just amazed every week when I see the show. My favorite quote to date has definitely got to be ” Her virginity was really special to her so we both agreed that I would only put it in her butt.” I mean who can get away with writing like that. It is so ridiculous but absolutely fitting for the show. A+
