Underworld Rise of the Lycans 1-22-09

I got a chance to see this for free tonight, just got home actually. It was good for free, but the people we were sitting next to had weird smells and were very distracting.  This was pretty much a straight to dvd-esque movie. From the poster, I never realized that Kate Beckinsale was not even in this and that it was a prequal. Some of the cuts were ridiculously fast and I’m sure it was to cut costs, but it was so hard at times to see what was going on. I don’t know if I would say go see this, it gives depth to the character of Viktor as played by Bill Nighy which was intersting. The end was really the most interesting and i wish that they would have delved more into that (after you see it of course) but they didn’t.

Looking forward to Coraline

I went to universal studios the other day and got to check out some set pieces from the new film Coraline. The detail was truely amazing. I can’t wait to see what tim burton and the director of the nightmare before christmas has brought us with the stereoscop in order to give more depth. This movie is going to be amazing, no doubt about it. Check out the trailer on the site!

Random movie suggestions

you’ve seen DON”T TELL MOM THE BABYSITTER”S DEAD right? its an oldie but a goodie…
MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN- it was pretty gruesome - its based on a story by clive barker i dont know if that one is on dvd yet though
nick and norah’s infinite playlist (don’t know if that’s on dvd either) good and funny stuff
HELLBOY II was actually pretty cool cuz of the pan’s labrinth characters - ha ha
HANCOCK is worth a watch
if you haven’t seen WALL E yet you’re totally missing out - i bought the 3 dvd set its so good!
WANTED was pretty cool
STEPBROTHERS of course is friekin hilarious.
If you get a chance try out DEXTER - the tv show its really good
WEEDS tv show too really good
THE FALL - has some pretty beautiful surrealist stuff in it, but its one of those stories withing a story that kind of make it eh at times
KING OF CALIFORNIA was pretty good for a watch, probably not a 2nd one though
Did  you see CONFESSIONS of a SUPERHERO - that’s a good doc about the people who dress up on hollywood boulevard - we’ve seen some of em ha ha
INTO THE WILD (sean penn’s movie he directed) was pretty interesting
PS I LOVE YOU - good romance movie
The NINES - was a pretty good movie - messed up and confusing but good too.. weird
THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES - good for a watch - cool goblins
21 - pretty good for a watch - about counting cards
GHOST TOWN - ricky gervis - its pretty good, starts out great, then you know it slows down some.
MY BEST FRIEND”S GIRL - with dane cook - pretty funny romantic comedy
THE ROCKER- dwight from the office - pretty good
